Wheelset presses



IPEX offers a range of different wheelset presses for assembly and/or disassembly of wheelsets. The spectrum extends from the simple disassembly press with one press cylinder to one- and two-cylinder presses for fitting both wheels in one setting and right through to the world first for a high-end assembly press with two press cylinders for the simultaneous fitting of the two wheel discs. The applications range accordingly from deployment in a low-capacity wheelset repair workshop right through to highly automated wheelset production in large quantities.

Mobile wheelset lathe Machine 


Mobile wheelset lathe Machine can be brought to various locations per rail or road transport. Once it has been positioned on the track network in the workshops, this machine is simply brought from its standby position on the track network to the respective location when needed. A machine-integrated wheel diameter and profile wear measuring system in combination with a modern CNC control system enables lathe machine to be linked to a data management system available at the customer’s site. Mobile wheelset lathe Machine leads to savings in wheelset reprofiling when compared to conventional underfloor wheelset lathes.

Portal wheelset lathe


The wheelset lathe type designed as a high-performance wheelset lathe with a faceplate drive for machining the most difficult materials in workshops with railbound wheelset transportation. For this type of deployment the base, the machine stand, has a portal-shape design and bridges the feeding track. On the machine stand, the two CNC-controlled rotary tool posts with an integrated profile wear and diameter measuring device are arranged overhead and, in an ideal manner, allow unobstructed machine loading and unloading in roll through operation for continuous wheelset machining.
